Debit/ATM Cards allow you to draw funds from your checking account without having to write out a check. You will receive a card, that looks like a credit card, that will allow you to scan the card at most retail establishments or receive cash at most ATM machines. You are never charged if you use a Black River Country Bank ATM, but you may be charged at other ATM’s.

EFFECTIVE JUNE 1
In June, Black River Country Bank will be changing to the SHAZAM Network for our debit card program. This new program will offer some great new benefits, including the SHAZAM BOLT$ app which allows you to access your account information anytime, anywhere via your smart phone or the Internet. There’s also a feature to set up alerts regarding transactions or suspicious activity. See details below regarding SHAZAM BOLT$.
The change will take place on June 1, 2015 and your new debit card will be fully functional on that day provided you have completed the card activation procedures. Please be aware, your old debit card WILL NO LONGER work on June 1, 2015.
Your new debit card should arrive the week of May 18.
Watch your mail. If you don’t receive your card by Tuesday, May 26, please call Black River Country Bank at 715-284-9448.
You will receive a new PIN.
A separate mailer (unmarked envelope) with your PIN will arrive in the mail a few days after your card. If you wish to change your PIN, call us and we’ll assist you with the process.
You can activate your new card in one of three ways:
Before or after June 1, call 866-590-4793 to activate your card over the phone.
After June 1, use it for a PIN-based transaction at an ATM.
After June 1, use it for a PIN-based transaction at any merchant.
Be sure to destroy your old card after June 1.
Your old debit card will no longer function beginning June 1. Please destroy any previously issued Black River Country Bank debit card on June 1.
You will need to notify merchants and service providers that charge your debit card for recurring or automated payments, such as Internet services or fitness centers, of your new number when you receive it. Any use of the old card, on or after June 1, will cause your payment to decline and potentially interrupt your service.
Access account information anywhere, anytime with SHAZAM BOLT$
With the SHAZAM BOLT$ app, you can access balance information anytime, anywhere via your smartphone or the Internet. It also adds another layer of protection to your debit card. SHAZAM BOLT$ can immediately alert you to potentially fraudulent activity:
• A debit purchase for more than an amount you specify.
• Any card-not-present debit transaction (i.e., phone, Internet, mail).
• Any suspicious or high-risk transaction that occurs on your account.
SHAZAM BOLT$ is available for smartphones and tablets, as well as any home computer with a web connection.
